Zombie Invasion Zoo - Environment Concept

This Concept Artwork shows an early gameplay level for the fictional game I came up with. The sun has not yet fully set and the animals are behaving somewhat calmly. Once the player reaches the dome in the Background the night will already have fallen and the first boss enemy (see Hippo Concept from previous post) makes an appearance. The lighting was specifically chosen to be something that's not as common for eary scenes.

This concept was done as part of the Advanced Concept Art Course at CG Spectrum. As the original task was a little bit too basic I wanted to do something a lot more advanced and incorporate my 3D workflow, including 3D Scanning (specifically Photogrammetry). Thanks to my Mentor Brandon Reimchen I've managed to push this a bit further than I even had planned in the beginning. This specific time of day was a suggestion from another Mentor, namely Humza Khan.
